Caitlin Doughty, author, mortician, advocate and founder of reform collective, The Order of the Good Death

Join us for a conversation with Caitlin Doughty. Hailed by The New York Times as "a relentlessly curious and chipper tour guide to the underworld,” she’ll discuss reform of Western funeral industry practices and much more with Mark Bazer (The Interview Show).

Her educational webseries "Ask a Mortician" has been viewed almost 250 million times and her three books were New York Times bestsellers—"Smoke Gets in Your Eyes," "From Here to Eternity" and "Will My Cat Eat My Eyeballs?" She founded a Los Angeles funeral home as well as the funeral reform collective The Order of the Good Death, which spawned the death positive movement.

Doughty will be joined in conversation with Mark Bazer. Bazer is the host and creator of WTTW’s The Interview Show. Filmed in a bar in Chicago, the series features conversations that are as substantive as they are entertaining.

Join us at the library for a viewing of a virtual visit presented by Illinois Libraries Present.

This event is made possible by Illinois Libraries Present, a statewide collaboration among public libraries offering high-quality events. Funded in part by a grant awarded by the Illinois State Library, a Department of the Office of Secretary of State, using funds provided by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services, under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA).

About the branch

The Warrenville Public Library District was established in 1979 to provide library services to the residents of Warrenville and nearby unincorporated areas. The District operates out of a single facility located at 28W751 Stafford Place, Warrenville, IL.

Through warrenville.com, 24/7 services include digital content availability, database use, event registration and the ability to place books and other items on hold through the catalog.

In 2020, WPLD joined the SWAN Library Services consortium, making over 8,000,000 items available to our members.

WPLD members and guests have access to many amenities: Study and Meeting Rooms, Quiet Room with fireplace, casual seating areas, Discovery Room for children, Teen Lounge, cold beverage vending café, free wifi and computers.

The library is located in the heart of Warrenville’s civic center near the intersection of Batavia and Butterfield Roads. Additional parking and a second entrance are available off of Mount St. and Manning Avenue.
