Join us at the library for a viewing of a virtual visit with musician and author Michelle Zauner, in conversation with Jessica Hopper, Chicago-based music critic, producer and author.
Michelle Zauner is best known as a singer and guitarist who creates dreamy, shoegaze-inspired indie pop under the name Japanese Breakfast. She has won acclaim from major music outlets around the world for releases like Psychopomp (2016) and Soft Sounds from Another Planet (2017). Critically acclaimed Jubilee (2021) is currently nominated for two Grammy awards. "Crying in H Mart" is her first book.
Jessica Hopper, Chicago-based music critic and author, will join Zauner in conversation. In a career spanning more than twenty years, Hopper has earned acclaim as a provocative music journalist. She has written for GQ, Rolling Stone, The New York Times Magazine, The Guardian, Elle and more. She was formerly the editorial director at MTV News, and an editor at Pitchfork. Hopper is the author of several books including "The Girls Guide To Rocking," named a Notable Book for Young Readers by the American Library Association.

In 2020, WPLD joined the SWAN Library Services consortium, making over 8,000,000 items available to our members.
WPLD members and guests have access to many amenities: Study and Meeting Rooms, Quiet Room with fireplace, casual seating areas, Discovery Room for children, Teen Lounge, cold beverage vending café, free wifi and computers.
The library is located in the heart of Warrenville’s civic center near the intersection of Batavia and Butterfield Roads. Additional parking and a second entrance are available off of Mount St. and Manning Avenue.
