From the diary of Hiram Leonard (1810-1878)

1858

July 28 McKinney raised the meeting house this week.
Sept. 16 B.C. Williams fell from the belfry of the Methodist Church today and hurt his back.
Oct. 7 A fine stormy day with howling wind and wracked the stages to the meeting house steeple conciderable
Dec. 17 The Methodists had a supper in the basement of their church and conciderable many were from one place and another and they took some clear of cost $112.00

1859

Jan. 15 Quarterly meeting in then new church.
Jan. 30 Elder Roundsville preached in Methodist Church.
Feb. 18 The new Methodist Church was dedicated today at eleven.  Sermon by Elder Hitchcock.
