NextReads E-Mail Newsletters for Kids and Teens
Kids can now subscribe to NextReads, e-mail newsletters of suggested book titles just for kids and teens. Newsletter titles include Picture Books, Kid's Books (fiction and non-fiction for kids in elementary school) and Tweens Reads (for middle schoolers) and Teen Scene (for high school readers). Each newsletter is automatically sent to your e-mail address monthly. Subscribers can link directly to the library catalog from books of interest on the list and place a hold or request a title immediately.
Live Homework Help Live Homework Help is a free, on-demand online tutoring service from Tutor.com that connects students in Kindergarten - 12th grade and introductory college students to expert tutors in math, science, social studies and English via the Internet. Live Homework Help is available every day from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Spanish-speaking tutors are available in math, science studies and adult learning every day from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Textbooks Available
The library maintains a collection with many of the District 200 textbooks used in our public schools. Textbooks are available for in-library use only. Ask for the textbooks at the Youth Services Reference Desk.

Online Databases can help children explore safe online Internet sites. The library’s databases may be accessed from the library or at home using your library card number and a pin number.
TumbleBooks
Interactive, animated talking picture books for children. A gift for the children of Warrenville from the Warrenville Library Foundation.
Ellison Die-Cut Machine & Shapes Our Library has a die-cut machine that we will make available quarterly to our community. A die-cut machine allows multiple copies of selected shapes to be cut at a rapid pace. Use of the Die-Cut machine is free, but you must provide your own paper supplies for cutting. The Ellison Die-Cut machine accepts most types of paper, including construction paper, photo paper, scrapbooking papers, and craft foam. Click here for a list of the Library’s Die-Cut shapes.

Sick Child Kits Is your child home sick and looking for something to do? Call the Library for a Sick Child Kit. Based on the age and interests of your child, we will gather library materials for you to pick up and check out. Books, DVD’s, compact discs, puzzles, magazines, word games, and coloring sheets may be included. Parents will need to have a valid Warrenville Public Library card to use this service. Call 393-1171, ext. 110 to order a kit.
Thematic Kits
Children dealing with major changes in their lives often need answers and guidance. Our Thematic Bags contain materials related to some of the issues children may face. Each bag contains books for kids and adults, DVD or videos, and realia, suitable for preschoolers through 3rd graders. Parents may check out the bags for 2 weeks. Kits are available for Warrenville cardholders only.
