Beginning in early March, you will receive your invitation to complete the Census. For the first time, online responses are being accepted. You will also have the option to phone in your information. A paper form will be sent at a later date if you don’t respond online or via phone.
The Census provides an incredible opportunity to participate in shaping the future for your family and community. Results from the 2020 Census will be used to:
• Direct over $675 billion in federal funds for local schools, roads, libraries and other services
• Help our community prepare to meet transportation and emergency readiness needs
• Determine the number of seats each state has in the U.S. House of Representatives and your representation at all levels of the government
Beginning March 12, we will have secure, dedicated devices for you to submit your responses. You do not need a WPLD library card or other ID to use our computers to complete the Census.
On April 1, National Census Day, our entire Computer Lab will be reserved for anyone wishing to complete their census form online.
Not sure who to include on your form? Uncertain how the information will be used? We can help! Stop by or call our Adult Services Desk at 630/393-1171 x121.
