BOARD OF TRUSTEES

MINUTES OF THE COMMITTEE-OF-THE-WHOLE

WEDNESDAY, MAY 16, 2007 – 6:00 P.M.

ATTENDING:Trustees Arlowe, Brown, Clark, Goodman, Johnston (arrived at 6:21pm)

ALSO ATTENDING:Director Sandy Whitmer, Administrative Assistant Jackie Davis, Department Heads Leila Heath and Barb Heilenbach, and Trustee Elect Barbara DuRocher

ABSENT:Trustees Stull and Walker

1.Call to order – Trustee Clark called the meeting to order at 6:08 p.m.

2.Alba Lemos Gift Fund

Director Whitmer reported that she had researched the gift fund and found that it was established in July 2004.The discussion at that time was that the Gift Fund would allow for use of the funds by keeping the principal intact and reserving 10% of any income for growth. The remaining 90% of income would be spent on materials.Director Whitmer recommended that $1,000 be used in FY 07/08 for materials and in future years 90% of the prior year’s interest would be used for purchasing materials.

The trustees concurred with this recommendation.

3.Review of the second draft of the FY 2007/08 working budget

Director Whitmer explained changes that were made from the first draft to the second draft of the budget.

Page 5 – Building and Maintenance – Director Whitmer explained that she would like to add $10,000 as a contingency for building repairs such as exterior staining, roof repairs, etc.Any contingency expenses would be charged to the building and maintenance fund.

MOTION:Trustee Clark moved to adjourn the Committee of the Whole meeting at 7:08 p.m. Trustee Arlowe seconded. Voice vote – all ayes.(Trustees Stull and Walker absent). Motion carried.
