Committee of the Whole Meeting

Wednesday, April 18, 2007 – 6:00 p.m.

ATTENDING: Trustees Arlowe, Brown, Clark (late arrival) and Johnston (late arrival)

ABSENT: Trustees Goodman, Stull and Walker

ALSO ATTENDING: Library Director Sandra Whitmer, Administrative Assistant Jackie Davis, Department Head Joe Filapek, Trustee Elect Barbara DuRocher

1. Call to order – Trustee Arlowe called the meeting to order at 6:03 p.m.

2. Review of the first draft of the FY2007/2008 Working Budget

Director Whitmer reviewed the budget page by page.

Trustee Clark arrived at 6:23 p.m. and Trustee Johnston at 6:24 p.m.

Page 14 – Furniture and Equipment. Director Whitmer explained that this amount was increased due to furniture and equipment that may be needed during the next year. She explained each item proposed in the budget.

After considerable discussion, it was the consensus of the Board to eliminate the self-check machine in the amount of $25,000.

Considerable discussion was held regarding the request for additional shelving for adult books.

MOTION: Trustee Arlowe moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:25 p.m. Voice vote - all ayes. (Motion carried). (Trustees Goodman, Stull and Walker absent)
